Welcome! I am so glad that you have come to visit.

HeartFull Connections is an integrated system of body/mind/spirit integration and spiritual development to help the individual to draw from their highest and most loving self when making decisions in their life.  It was developed as a direct reflection of what I found has helped me throughout my life.

Most of life for me has been a spiritual journey - trying to figure out what it is all about and what is the reason for the pain and suffering that seems to be so much a part of the human condition.  As many of us, I had traumas early in life and felt alone and apart from others. This set the course for my search for understanding and for healing.

The “wonderful opportunities” and relationships that appeared as I continued my search led me in the last 25+ years to explore and work with many different traditions and to offer and share what I had learned and experienced in workshops and trainings with others throughout the US and Canada. This includes teaching and facilitating groups at healing centers and massage schools in Florida and throughout the Southeast, the Reilly School of Massage in Virginia Beach, the Omega Institute in Rheinbeck NY, Shenandoah University in Virginia and East Tennessee State University. It also includes a wealth of experience from my professional career as a musical storyteller and as an independent recording artist with my solo CD, Ulana, The Way of the Heart.

The modern body/mind integration techniques come from the Somatic Voicework, which utilizes the world-recognized LoVetri Method. I trained exclusively with its founder, Jeannette LoVetri, in the early 1980s and became certified as a Somatic Voicework TM Practitioner in 2004.  I combine this with my additional experience as a licensed senior teacher and registered acupressurist of Jin Shin Do ® Bodymind Acupressure ™ since 1988 and as a Certified Music Practitioner through the Music for Healing and Transition Program since 1995. I also am a contributing author of the book, The Complete Guide to Acupressure and have been published in magazines, including Voice Magazine.  The more spiritual and ancient traditions include the Native American, through apprenticing to a medicine women for 14 years and studying with several other teachers throughout the years.

These teachers shared their knowledge and memory of their old traditional ways, and they all have had an influence on how I now live my life; but I still felt something was missing. I continued to ask questions and look further until my journey finally led me to the ancient tradition of Hawaiian Huna. It was when I connected with the intangible force that is the foundation of everything that is Hawaiian and that goes back to before what we know of as Hawaii today – what they call the Aloha Spirit – that everything fell into place.  It resonated deep within me, and I knew I had finally come 'Home'.   It is now the foundation of everything I do and it culminated in the creation of HeartFull Connections.

To understand HeartFull Connections, it is important to understand “ Living the Aloha Spirit” . Aloha is so much more then what most people think of when they hear the word – hello, goodbye, love.  We in the western world have taken that word, “love” so for granted – using it for all sorts of things – I love candy, I love to do this or that, I love this person.  What does the word “love” really mean?  To the Hawaiians, it is the way of the heart. It is based on a gentle, natural tradition that incorporates forgiveness, gratitude and blessing as way of living your life and recognizing the Divine within oneself, within each other and within every other being and thing on this planet. Aloha is what weaves everyone and everything together.

The acronym for aloha means:

•  to be unassuming so you can continue to grow and learn

•  to be in harmony with your body/mind/spirit; your past/present future –     knowing that they are all one

•  to speak your truth and to trust and stand tall in it

•  to be humble in the presence of God's many forms

•  to be patient, have fortitude and strength to know that everything always     works out perfectly.

Aloha is the connection between all cultures and countries; between the generations; between this world and the next.  It is our connection to the ‘aina, the land/nature.  I found that it is in going back and remembering the ancient ways of Living in Aloha that we can learn how to go forward to transform our whole body/mind/spirit system.  It is how we can find meaning and connection and peace within ourselves and in this world.

To the ancient Hawaiians, before the invasions from other cultures, living in harmony and balance was of the utmost importance. They believed that if there was anger or fear, there was no life.  If there was aloha—love, then there was life and healing.  It was as simple as that.  There was still conflict.  That is part of living in this physical world of relativity and duality; yet they had very simple tools for finding resolution of conflict when it came up, including a process called Ho'oponopono , which means “to make right”.  All resolution of conflicts was begun knowing that finding harmony in the end through forgiveness would be the final result.  It was necessary so that they could maintain the peaceful and loving environment in their villages and homes.  There was no hierarchy.  There was no need.  All knew what their roles were and that each was equally important for the village and all the people in it to survive. They were family—they were all one.

I share with you what I found to be the answer for me.  It is the reflection and recognition of the Divine within all humans and the acknowledgement of the spiritual kinship and respect that we all share beyond our physical traits and personalities that is truly the embodiment of Living the Aloha Spirit .

It is having the opportunity to grow and evolve in Consciousness through the “human condition” - in the easy times as well as the hard times. When we find our way “home” to the love in our heart – especially in those “dark nights of the soul”;  we find the door opening to the Divine inspiration that is within each of us.  We then become co-creators with the Divine, and we begin to experience miracles happening in our lives and in the world around us—making this world a better place for all of us.

O ka Maluhia no me 'oe - Peace be with you!

Aloha!

Bless the Present – Trust Yourself – Expect the Best
